Our story

A dairy built around the animals.

Swallowtail Farm & Dairy is the natural next chapter of a life spent raising and learning from registered Alpine dairy goats.

Since 2011

Long before the dairy, there was the herd.

Kailey has raised ADGA-registered Alpine dairy goats in Washington since 2011. At first, the work was simply about enjoying the goats and breeding better animals—learning their personalities, improving the herd and caring for each one well.

As the herd's quality and milk production grew, goat milk soap became the first bridge between that work and the products Swallowtail could share. The bars are handmade with natural ingredients and without artificial fragrance.

“I was in it for the goats long before I was in it for the money side.”

Becoming a Grade A dairy took several more years of preparation as licensing and building requirements were completed one by one. That deliberate path still shapes the farm: small enough for individual attention, serious about good husbandry and transparent about where the food comes from.

Today, Swallowtail aims to provide minimally processed, nourishing food to families across southern Washington and northern Oregon. Every bottle, cup and batch of cheese begins with animals known by name.
